The Good Stuff
Shortly after becoming CEO of Nike, Mark Parker talked to Steve Jobs on the phone.
“Do you have any advice?” Parker asked Jobs. “Well, just one thing,” said Jobs. “Nike makes some of the best products in the world. Products that you lust after. But you also make a lot of crap. Just get rid of the crappy stuff and focus on the good stuff.” Parker said Jobs paused and Parker filled the quiet with a chuckle. But Jobs didn’t laugh. He was serious. “He was absolutely right,” said Parker.
I initially started Solo with the goal of providing economical bridles at the best prices on the market. Solo delivered, and sales were booming.
Then covid hit, and everything changed.
Economy leather became inconsistent in it's quality, and difficult to source. I had a certain standard of leather I wanted to provide, and meeting those goals became a challenge. As I was packing bridles one day, it struck me.
Why make the best economy bridles at the best prices, when I could make THE BEST bridles, period! Cutting out wholesaling, middlemen, and dealing directly with our customers, I knew I could produce the best bridles in the world at prices that could not be beat.
I only wanted to focus on the good stuff!
Hello Italy! Italian leather is some of the finest bridle leather in the world. And not only is it gorgeous, supple, and heavenly, it's also very consistent. Italian bridle leather is vegetable tanned, a process that involves using natural vegetable tannins and has been perfected over generations here in Italy. Vegetable-tanned leather is considered higher quality and will last longer than synthetically treated leather.
