Remember how we forgot?
Forgot when you were 8 and you’d point in excitement when you saw a horse in a field on a family road trip.
The first time you tacked up your own horse.
Your first canter.
The excitement of school ending so you could see your horses first pair of shoes that got put on while you were at school.
That first time your instructor let you ride their own horse.
The first time you won first place in a horse show.
It’s easy to forget. Now that you have vet bills to pay, an aching lower back, issues at work, car problems, and boots that no longer zip up because you’ve been carb loading in the wrong way.
But once in a while it’s good to try and remember all the things we’ve forgot.
Sometimes Dressage isn’t always about riding.
